Full Interior Re-Engineering · Residential apartment
Kaliningrad, 2022

This project began as a deeply neglected apartment with failing surfaces, chaotic utilities, collapsing finishes, and no spatial logic. Every room was visually and structurally broken — from the bathroom to the corridor to the kitchen — making the apartment feel smaller, darker, and unusable.
The entire space was reimagined from the inside out. The new design transforms the apartment into a calm, modern studio with clear proportions, a flexible layout, restored materials, custom-made elements, and a completely new atmosphere.
AFTER THE TRANSFORMATION

WHAT WAS DONE
Spatial Re-engineering & Layout
Complete floorplan redesign, turning a fragmented apartment into a unified studio.
Removal of unnecessary partitions to open the space and correct proportions.
Infrastructure Renewal
Full electrical network redesign and rewiring.
Rerouting utilities for better usability and cleaner wall geometry.
Material Restoration & Surface Rework
Complete restoration and repainting of the original hardwood flooring (now deep black).
Uncovering and preserving the brick wall in the main area.
Custom Furniture & Built-Ins
Custom kitchen module with new geometry, optimized surfaces, and integrated shelving.
Bespoke shelving and cabinetry throughout the apartment.
Sourcing & Styling
Precision-sourced vintage armchairs, tables, lamps, and objects to add depth and character.
Plants selected and placed to soften geometry and introduce natural vertical structure.
Lighting Architecture
Multi-layered lighting system combining task, ambient, decorative, and diffused light.
Light used to reshape the perceived geometry and mood of the space.
Atmosphere & Visual Identity
A complete shift from neglected Soviet-era chaos to a calm, contemporary studio with warm tactility.
Visual consistency achieved through a restrained palette, clean lines, and raw material honesty.
